I've played the video game, Hellgate: London, before so that may have made me especially attracted to it. Everything I read was vivid in my mind -once again, this may have been from playing Hellgate London- and it left off with that guy-and-girl-get-together ending. However, somewhere in the middle, I had read that a certain character from Hellgate: London was still alive; the character should have died, but it makes a part of the video game less dramatic now that I know that the character lived. It wasn't the end of the trilogy though, since none of the characters have accomplished their own ultimate goals. I immediately set off to look for Exodus, the prequel to Goetia and first in the trilogy, but neither the Bella Terra or Metro Pointe Barnes and Noble Bookstores had them in stock so I had to place an order for the book to ship in.

While I'm waiting for Exodus to arrive at the B&N store pickup, I'll be reading "The Last Wish", the book that inspired the video game known as "The Witcher". While I'm not as emotionally attached to "The Last Wish" as I was to the trilogy based on Hellgate: London, it's still a neat book and I can see how it motivated an entire game studio to turn the text into a video game.

Now Playing Kane's Wrath

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_A2WgMGQwB8c/SF8x5pimp7I/AAAAAAAAAFw/aESI4XtgOoU/s400/kwimg05.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5214941759991621554" /> So, I bought Command and Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath last Thursday, and now I'm ready to announce that I'll be playing it for quite a bit. There's only one campaign, but its storyline answered many questions that had been occupying me since I finished all three Tiberium Wars campaigns. I won't list them so you may find out for youself when you play, but I'll tell you that there's a hell of a lot of Nod-on-Nod action in Kane's Wrath; however, you do combat GDI and Scrin during your rise to power.

I've also played online, and I can tell you that the players there are a lot tougher than the ones in Tiberium Wars. Most of the Kane's Wrath players are hardened veterans from the third Tiberium war, so you shouldn't expect noob stomping to be as easy as it is in vanilla C&C3.

Finally, I've decided to post my multiplayer replays. I'll be accepting criticism since it backs up the main reason why I'm posting them -to be a better player.

Got a New Age of Conan Mousepad - Kiera

That's my new mousepad, a Z Fragmat with Kiera right on it. I was looking forward to "Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning", but I wasn't motivated enough to professionally fill out a damned application form to get into the closed beta. Anyway, while browsing through the site, I found out that one of the careers in "WAR" was called "White Lion". I was like OMG and decided to check that out. It was a badass character with the ability to have his own battle cat, a white lion. Ok, that's enough to get me to sign up for the closed beta; and so I did. Luckily, the application form was short and easy to fill out; but with over 700,000 applications at the time I visited the site, I had to sound somewhat more intelligent than the average ub3r l33t g4m3r. Here's a part of my application:

"Hello, I am a junior attending high school with a future unfolding before me. Throughout my life, I’ve participated in gaming as a hobby, and I hope that someday that hobby will transform into a job in the video game industry. I wish to test Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning to gain experience on how a game evolves when it is being developed in its beta phase so that I will have that wisdom when I enter the video game industry. Why I chose to apply for WAR specifically, instead of any other beta, is because of my love for the Warhammer franchise. I had first seen it as a tabletop game in a Games Workshop store when I was in my youth, and I had been absorbed into the Warhammer universe ever since. Although I’ve played and read through many Warhammer games and lore, I still wish to further engulf myself in the franchise. I would love to level up my knowledge of the development of video games and explore the lore of Warhammer through this closed beta of WAR. Now, as this was launched, I've actually heard people complain about it not having a front video camera for video conversations. Excuse me, but who are you going to video chat with? Nobody? Who else out there has a cellular device capable of video chatting? Now you can go ahead and Google it, but look in your own pocket and see what you, yourself, have. There would be a lot of people to video chat with if the feature was included in the iPhone 3G since a boatload of people will be purchasing iPhones, but other than that, get real. What next, you want the iPhone to give you eternal life? The flaws, people always focus on the flaws.

Let me get this straight! Cutting edge hardware of today is potentially junk tomorrow, that's how fast technology advances. If Apple did include a video-chat camera, then people would complain about it not being able to shoot laser beams or conjure viagra. The lasting impression here is software. The iPhone's OS X is so loaded with potential that it places it high up in the user satisfaction ratings. And no, your satisfaction doesn't count if you don't actually own an iPhone. Today's cutting-edge hardware is tomorrow's junk while epic software leaves a lasting legacy. Why don't you just pony up the $199 for an iPhone 3G since it's incredibly affordable now. Just don't forget to pay the extra $20 a month for the data.

Howie's PCs Aren't the Shit

Ok, what is up with people thinking that Howie's PCs are freaking, uber leet? Each PC is equipped with a single Core 2 Duo X6800 and one GeForce 8800 GT. Neither of those are uber-freaking-leet, and you could build a PC with more than twice the graphics processing power for under $1,000. Just because a $2,000, overpriced Sony VAIO from Best (worst) Buy is overrun by a simple Howie's PC, doesn't mean that the computers at those game shacks are the phattest PCs ever. Their computers are far from chart topping.

Got My Notebook Back

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_A2WgMGQwB8c/SAabFNKl2WI/AAAAAAAAAB4/-Bg2ELDj0OU/s400/iPhone+Pictures+144.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5190006134326810978" /> I finally got my notebook back from my mom's co-worker, a PC technician, and it appears to be functioning now. The technician couldn't pin point the problem with my notebook, but he said it suddenly started working again after performing multiple diagnostics. He recommended me to install new drivers, but that just ended up with me getting frustrated. My notebook was perfectly fine before, but then it started malfunctioning for no apparent reason; I don't see how the issue was caused by old drivers, because they had been working before with old firmware. I know it's a hardware problem, and the technician thought it was, but he wasn't sure about it. I still have the downloaded drivers on my desktop, but I can't install them since it requires a fully functional battery. For goodness' sake, I hate these stupid-ass, avoidable conflicts that are reinforced just so distributers can milk more money out of consumers' pockets. I'm just about done with notebook PCs, and I'll be planning on buying a MacBook in the future to avoid all of this shit.
