I finally got my notebook back from my mom's co-worker, a PC technician, and it appears to be functioning now. The technician couldn't pin point the problem with my notebook, but he said it suddenly started working again after performing multiple diagnostics. He recommended me to install new drivers, but that just ended up with me getting frustrated. My notebook was perfectly fine before, but then it started malfunctioning for no apparent reason; I don't see how the issue was caused by old drivers, because they had been working before with old firmware. I know it's a hardware problem, and the technician thought it was, but he wasn't sure about it. I still have the downloaded drivers on my desktop, but I can't install them since it requires a fully functional battery. For goodness' sake, I hate these stupid-ass, avoidable conflicts that are reinforced just so distributers can milk more money out of consumers' pockets. I'm just about done with notebook PCs, and I'll be planning on buying a MacBook in the future to avoid all of this shit.
