Yup, I decided to apply, and that was on my first visit to the website too. I was looking forward to "Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning", but I wasn't motivated enough to professionally fill out a damned application form to get into the closed beta. Anyway, while browsing through the site, I found out that one of the careers in "WAR" was called "White Lion". I was like OMG and decided to check that out. It was a badass character with the ability to have his own battle cat, a white lion. Ok, that's enough to get me to sign up for the closed beta; and so I did. Luckily, the application form was short and easy to fill out; but with over 700,000 applications at the time I visited the site, I had to sound somewhat more intelligent than the average ub3r l33t g4m3r. Here's a part of my application:
"Hello, I am a junior attending high school with a future unfolding before me. Throughout my life, I’ve participated in gaming as a hobby, and I hope that someday that hobby will transform into a job in the video game industry. I wish to test Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning to gain experience on how a game evolves when it is being developed in its beta phase so that I will have that wisdom when I enter the video game industry. Why I chose to apply for WAR specifically, instead of any other beta, is because of my love for the Warhammer franchise. I had first seen it as a tabletop game in a Games Workshop store when I was in my youth, and I had been absorbed into the Warhammer universe ever since. Although I’ve played and read through many Warhammer games and lore, I still wish to further engulf myself in the franchise. I would love to level up my knowledge of the development of video games and explore the lore of Warhammer through this closed beta of WAR. Thank you in advance."
What do you think, not too shabby? I hope I get accepted into the closed beta!
